Our Board Composition<\/h2>\n

The Board of Governors is an independent body made up of the Chief Executive, independent governors, and staff governors. The Chair of the Board is Mr Mark Owen, contactable via email at aebgovernance@standguide.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n

The main responsibilities of the board are to: determine the educational character of the business; monitor its performance; ensure its overall well-being and financial solvency and listen to the learner voice. The responsibilities are set out in the Instrument and Articles of Government and Terms of Reference. You can find out more about our governors in the Board Members section below.<\/p>\n

Jim has worked within the employment services, business support and skills sectors since 1996 in a variety of financial and management positions. Working in senior positions within the UK and internationally, Jim brings 25 years proven experience in the sector to Standguide as co-owner and CFO.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mark is an experienced Welfare to Work Professional with significant experience of delivering Adult Skills provision. He has held senior director positions with major welfare to work and independent learning providers over the last 21 years. Mark re-joined Standguide Ltd in 2017 as co-owner and CEO, having previously held the position of Programme Director from 1999 to 2006.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In 19 years with Standguide, Carly has become both Head of Operations and Director, providing a wealth of knowledge and experience in coaching, implementation, development, recruitment, and contract management. With a solution focused and improvement mindset, Carly monitors and evaluates our service delivery, ensuring they meet and exceed objectives, identifies areas for improvement and works with operational teams to take corrective actions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Stuart is a clinical lead for Safeguarding & Prevent as well as a Mental Health Specialist. Stuart has regularly presented at the MARAC conferences and brings 22+ years of management experience, advanced clinical practice knowledge within the health economy and experience of multi-site operations. Stuart brings oversite to Standguide and bolsters our mental health advice and awareness training.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sam has over 11 years\u2019 experience of working within the welfare to work sector with primary focus on the financial performance of contracts. Sam manages the GMCA Adult Education Budget and ensures the right curriculum is chosen to support with learner progression. In addition, Sam is responsible for the overall AEB performance, internal delivery, and of Standguide\u2019s SCP\u2019s.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Andy has 20 years\u2019 experience in further education and has worked as a tutor, assessor, lead IQA and assessment lead. He is quality driven and is dedicated to improving the learners experience at Standguide. He has vast experience in assessment and currently oversees all awarding bodies, their requirements and the qualifications that Standguide deliver.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
