What are Standguide ?
Standguide Ltd are a skills, training and recruitment consultancy designed to give help, guidance and support to individuals who are unemployed and looking for work.
Where are you based ?
The Head Office is based in Manchester with sites across the North West
What do you deliver ?
This varies according to each individual contract for each individual centre. In addition different programmes have different features including:-
Training both in house and with sub contractors in a range of occupational areas
Training and guidance in the tools needed to job search
Work tasters and placements to give individuals an opportunity to have a real
work experience References to improve job prospect by the centre and placement

Certificated First Aid/ Health & Safety/ Food Hygiene Certificates
What resources are there available to help me ?
Free use of (for job search purposes):
Computers/ Telephone and Fax/ Internet Access/ Stationery/ Stamps/ Newspapers/ Specialist Magazines/ Training Videos
How much does it cost me to get to your centre ?
All travel expenses are paid on a weekly basis (usually a Friday) subject to receipt of a fully completed time sheet.
Do I have to pay for anything else ?
Tea and Coffee are subsidised, you may want to bring a sandwich if you are in for a full days training
I have other problems I need support with, can you help me with them ?
We can arrange additional support in a number of specialised areas, for example:-
Alcohol Abuse/ Drug Abuse/ Homelessness
How do I apply to go to your centre ?
You would need to first speak to your Adviser at the Jobcentre to find out if you are eligible to attend one of our centres, they will then make all the necessary arrangements for you.
Can I do any course that I want ?
Not necessarily, your adviser could give you guidance regarding this.
How do you know that I’m going to be suitable for the job that I want ?
We complete what is called a Training Needs Assessment with all our customers to ensure that they are matched to an appropriate form of training, which has a realistic job goal.
What if I’m not happy with the service or the training that you give me ?
You are welcome to utilise our complaints procedure, all complaints are dealt with as efficiently and effectively as possible. This would be explained to you in detail at your provision induction.
